The Problem

  • More than 375 million empty ink and toner cartridges are thrown away every year- most of them end up in landfills. 

  • The volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and heavy metals present will pollute the soil and water when they reach landfills.

  • Printer Ink Cartridges can take over 1000 years to decompose. That’s a waste we should stop.

 
 

  • What do you do with all of those ink cartridges? 

  • How do we get people to care about how they dispose of used ink cartridges?

  • It is usually inconvenient, there is little incentive and people often forget to bring them to a retailer.

We have a solution

  • ​Children are often the best motivators for changing our habits.

  • They respond to complex problems in simple, imaginative ways.

  • We decided to appeal to the experts in this situation.

We have a solution

  • We  install our specialized bins at the Library , Community Centers, DPW, and Schools.

  • Children are provided Monster Recycling Totes to store the used cartridges in. No leaks, no mess, and kids love the bag. Parents too.

  • These are convenient, easily accessible locations, bins are made to be environmentally durable, and because they are outdoors-people can recycle during shut -downs.

  • The children are inspiring their parents to bring those cartridges to feed the monster.

WHY JOIN US?
WE HAVE MANY REASONS AND ALL OF THEM ARE GREEN.

 

We have created a green incentive that everyone can appreciate. There is Zero cost to join or participate in the program. For every used printer ink cartridge we collect, the town receives $1.00 back.  We install the bins, sort, settle, and send you a check.  It is that simple.

 

We then take those cartridges, clean and refill them, then ship them off to environmentally conscious customers. All at a fraction of the cost of brand name cartridges and with the same quality.
